Summary

Reporting to the Evaluation Coordinator, Foundry, the Research & Evaluation Associate supports the implementation of both research and evaluation activities for Foundry – an initiative with the goal of providing young people with enhanced access to integrated services, thereby easing transition points for youth and their families. Key responsibilities include providing support at Foundry centres to implement evaluation and research projects and Foundry’s Performance Measurement Framework. Supports data collection systems such as Toolbox and other platforms and provides ongoing quality improvement at centres through the utilization of research and evaluation data. Manages data collection consistent with Foundry’s privacy requirements and the requirements of the privacy and security of personal information. The Research & Evaluation Associate helps in the preparation of reports, presentations and knowledge products ensuring formats match funder’s requirements or user needs. Reviews data collected confirming consistency in Foundry’s Minimum Data Set. The Associate supports the implementation of the Plan-Do-Study-Act cycles, participates in events and training sessions, attends meetings and serves as the primary contact for Foundry pertaining to research and evaluation activities. In undertaking these responsibilities, the Research & Evaluation Associate works collaboratively with local Foundry centre leaders, staff and clients and their families.

Skills

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in evaluation, research-related science or a social science discipline, plus one (1) years’ experience working in a social service or health care environment supporting evaluation or research activities, performance monitoring, or quality improvement, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Duties

Provides support to local Foundry centre leaders and staff to implement Foundry’s Performance Measurement Framework as well as other evaluation plans and research projects.

Provides direct, centre-level support in the use of Foundry’s data collection systems, including implementing the Toolbox system and other platforms required by Foundry Central Office for data collection. Trains and mentors centre staff and performs data collection and data entry activities where required.

Manages data collected for research and evaluation purposes consistent with Foundry’s privacy requirements and the requirements outlined for research projects related to the privacy and security of personal information. Compiles, codes and organizes data files as required.

Supports the Evaluation Coordinator and Research Manager in the preparation of reports, presentations and other knowledge products related to research and evaluation activities. Assembles projects in formats as required by funders or tailored to the needs of the information user.

Ensures the collection of data is consistent with Foundry’s Minimum Data Set by actively reviewing reports on data being collected and addressing any gaps in data collection collaboratively with centre staff.

Monitors day-to-day aspects of research and evaluation at the centre level, including staff and stakeholder engagement and collaboration, data collection, and collation.

Supports the implementation of Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) cycles and data use at the centre level by working collaboratively with both centre leadership and Foundry’s Quality Improvement Specialist to act on identified improvement opportunities.

Participates in provincial research and evaluation activities, events and training sessions as requested by the Evaluation Coordinator or Research Manager.

Attends meetings on behalf of the Evaluation Coordinator or Research Manager to provide support to others undertaking research or evaluation activities.

Serves as a primary contact and liaison for Foundry leadership, staff, clients and their families for research and evaluation activities occurring at the centre-level.

Works collaboratively with local Foundry Implementation Coordinators to ensure efficient coordination of activities that impact Foundry centre operations.

Works collaboratively with Youth Researchers/Evaluators involved in evaluation and research projects at a local Foundry centre level.

Performs other related duties as required.
